Route Description

• By car, from Amsterdam, The Hague and the North

  Follow the signs for Rotterdam on the motorway. (Amsterdam A10 - A4 - A13) or (The Hague A12 - A4 - A13).

  At the end of the A13 is the Rotterdam Ring Road. Follow the signs for Centrum that is take the right hand fork and then the left hand exit almost immediately afterwards. As you descend the exit ramp stay in the right hand lane, turn right at the first set of lights. You are now on the Van Aerssenlaan keep driving until you see a canal on your left hand side. At this point you have entered the Heemraadssingel At the first crossing perform a U-turn to drive down the other side of the canal. Look for number 70. We are directly opposite the pedestrian bridge across the canal.

• By Train, from any Dutch rail station, Antwerp, Brussels or Paris

  Take a train that stops at Rotterdam CS (Central Station). Alight the train and proceed to the Station concourse.

  Walk past the blue buildings and keep right on the way through the building site until you get to cafe Engels at the front right corner of Stationsplein. Turn right, and you are now on the Weena. Walk 900 metres down the street, which becomes the Beukelsdijk. When you see water on your left you have found the Heemraadssingel. Walk down the left-hand side of the canal until you reach number 70.

  Alternatively you could take bus number 44 or 38 to the stop Beukelsdijk - Heemraadssingel, or the tram number 21 or 23 to the stop Vierambachtsstraat, alight walk back 100 metres and walk left down the canal to number 70.
