In this article we describe how to use JAXB to generate a KML object representation that can be used to feed data to Google Maps and Google Earth. We then show how to integrate KML generation into our RESTful API and how to create a mashup with those technologies.
When you see a piece of XML like this:
<foo:bar xmlns:foo="http://foo.example.com/2008/foo"> <foo:baz mumble="1"/> </foo:bar>
it is using a namespace. This article explains namespaces in XML: when to use namespaces, and how to declare a namespace.
In cooperation with DiderotTrack, Lunatech developed a website for online document processing. Factory3x5 was designed as a suit of services that render incomprehesible XML to a designed and easily read PDF format. After doing market research, we came to 2 conclusions: the market is getting warm for these type services, but it is too early for most companies to make the transition to such a web based service.
For the Dutch government (under assignment of the Dutch state publisher, Sdu Uitgevers) Lunatech helped building the backend and website that is running wetten.overheid.nl. The challenges in this project were huge, both from a content as well as IT perspective.
